Anton Ferdinand has avoided a jail sentence for driving while banned - by blaming his mum!
The Queens Park Rangers defender was arrested by police after his Porsche was caught driving at 43mph in a 30mph zone.
Ferdinand, 28, was already serving a ban for an earlier offence but pleaded ignorance after his mum failed to tell him about his punishment.

The defender told City of London magistrates: 'If I knew that I was disqualified I would never have driven because I could have got a taxi or got on a train.'
His mum Janice claimed she had not been made aware of her son's previous ban. Ferdinand was fined £4,600 and given a year's road ban.
Magistrate Victoria Fraser said: 'I want to re-iterate how lucky you are in your sentencing.'
