Retired David Beckham returns to the football pitch as he enjoys a kick around with young players during China trip

He may have given up professional football once and for all earlier in the year.
But David Beckham couldn’t resist taking to the pitch again as he enjoyed a kick around with young players during a China Super League match between Hangzhou Greentown and Beijing Guoan in Hangzhou.
The 38-year-old delighted the youngsters as he showed off his fancy footwork on Saturday as part of his promotional trip to China proving exactly why he’s the country’s football ambassador.

The father-of-four slipped into a pair of comfortable looking grey shorts with a black T-shirt and a pair of very bright yellow trainers.

 Looking very at ease the superstar ran around the pitch, showing the young teams some of the tricks of the trade.

Earlier in the day he was greeted by a hoard of aspiring footballers, all wearing their kit, as he arrived in a black Bentley.

The former footballer, who is in the country for seven days, certainly seems to be packing in as much as he can during his short stay, meeting as many people as possible.
And the star proved just how passionate he is about helping young people who have an interest in the sport, chatting to the aspiring footballers.
David looked as well turned out as ever for his sixth day in China, not letting his style crown slip even though he was heading to a football pitch.

The former sportsman, who played his last game in May,  paired his grey pinstripe suit with a black checked tie and had his famous quiff coiffed to perfection.
And David was as open and welcoming as ever during his trip, managing to keep a smile on his face as he met crowds of new people.
Seeming to take a genuine interest in the school for young footballers, he spent as much time as possible signing autographs and shaking hands.

The former England skipper visited children suffering from congenital heart disease as part of whirlwind visit the day before.
Maybe Becks was missing his own children, but he was very tactile with the kids, happily hugging and playing with them as he chatted with the nurses.

The 38-year-old star is in China for a total of seven days promoting China's top football league.
He began his new role as ‘image ambassador’ when he announced his retirement from professional football at the end of last season.
His wife Victoria jetted into the country on Saturday to join the her husband, causing a stir in a bright yellow jacket as she touched down.
