And the 2013 event is no different as several famous faces have already been spied on the farm, all of course showing off their festival styles for all to see.
So far it has been Millie Mackintosh, Katherine Jenkins, Caroline Flack and Florence Welch who have lead the way for the stars and style at the bash.
Rock chic: Millie Mackintosh cut the perfect figure of a wild child on day one of the Glastonbury festival
The Made In Chelsea star has been tweeting and blogging for weeks about how she prepared for the weekend – including a three-day diet – and finally got to show off all of her hard work.
She swapped her usual attire of delicate dresses, high heels and jewellery for a green combat-style jacket, crop top, flowers in her hair and the ultimate Glastonbury footwear – green wellies.
First timer: Millie came to support her fiance Professor Green who is performing on Friday early evening at the festival
She tweeted that she had embarked on Victoria Beckham's favourite three-day cleanse to slip into her hot pants at Glastonbury.
The former Made In Chelsea star followed the Honestly Healthy alkaline three-day cleanse to ensure she was in shape for this weekend's festival.
Green is the colour: Mackintosh with fiance Professor Green and pal Charlotte De Charle
Style in check: She ensured she still worked on her wardrobe as she let her hair down at the festival
Party time: Millie cuddled up to Professor Green
as well as her model friend Charlotte De Carle as they all strutted
along in their Hunter wellies
Fitting in: The girls wore floral headbands to fit in with then festival style at the music extravaganza
She tweeted plenty of pics, including one of her and De Charle enjoying some local Somerset cider – so much for the cleansing diet.
She was also seen with Green outside their tepee tent. He looked casual in a grey T-shirt, jeans and red wellies, which matched the ones worn by De Charle.
Style queen: Caroline Flack took some time off
from X Factor duties to enjoy herself at the annual festivities while
keeping stylish in a Kate Spade New York Santa Rosalia Scout bag
Dressed up: Katherine meanwhile hit the bars as she relaxed with her friends
Strutting her stuff: Jenkins looked hot to trot
as she made her way around the site before going to check out more of
the music on offer
Millie is certainly thoroughly ready for the long weekend, judging by her blog. She revealed she has packed ‘summer lashes, a St. Tropez spray tan so I could be in my festival shorts. Along with a shellac mani straight from my home with Perfect 10. I went for black to match my black Hunter wellies!’
Who's that guy? Jenkins sat on a mystery male's lap as she unwound during Friday day time
New love interest? Katherine cuddled up to the mystery male as they enjoyed some champagne to get them in the mood for the day
The make-up artist and the rapper will wed at Somerset's Babington House, and Millie will then join her musician beau on a tour of the US straight after the couple's nuptials after quitting Made In Chelsea at the end of last season.
To make the diet as easy as possible for Millie, the £137 Honestly Healthy Fridge Fill (a three day supply of goodness) was delivered to her home each day and she received everything from breakfast to dinner plus snacks.
Bit busy! Thousands flooded through the gates to
check out the music on Friday, which saw the likes of Rita Ora and
Professor Green take to the stage
Keeping dry: It rained on Thursday but revellers
were pleased to see the sun break through when they woke up with bleary
heads on Friday
Good vibes: The stars mingled with the rest of the gigantic crowd as they watched the various stages
Katherine Jenkins was also in tow and also got into the festival swing of things in a denim pair of shorts, shirt and floral headband around her head.
Liam Gallagher and his band Beady Eye kicked off the world renowned event in Somerset, South West England, on Friday morning with a surprise gig on The Other Stage.
Sisters: Cara and Poppy Delevingne turn out in
force to party the night away on Friday, with Poppy also wearing the
Kate Spade New York Santa Rosalia Scout bag like Caroline Flack
Off parental duties: Billie Piper and husband Laurence Fox also decided to make a weekend of it
Understated: Cara opted for a casual outfit as
she entered the farm ready to watch best pal Rita Ora perform on the
Pyramid Stage while keeping her eyes covered in Le Specs sunglasses and

What a disguise: Pixie Geldof attempted to go incognito with a long dark wig as she chatted to Cara
Travelling in style: Peaches Geldof also took some time off from mummy duties to join the fashion set at Glastonbury
Speaking backstage at the festival, Liam - who played Glastonbury three times with his old band Oasis, first in 1994 then as headliners in 1995 and 2004 - exclusively told BANG Showbiz: 'I had a sh***y gig last time I was here with Oasis, my head was a bit pickled, but we have minds and minds are meant to be changed.
Festival fan: Florence Welch went for an understated outfit as she wandered along sipping on a cocktail

Who knew they were such good friends? Sienna
Miller is ecstatic as she runs into actor Chris O'Dowd backstage on Day
one of the festival
Someone's happy: They seemed to be close friends as Sienna jumped up and cuddled the funny man
Thousands of festival goers went to see Beady Eye open at 11:00am and Liam was thrilled with the atmosphere as they played their set - which included tracks off their new album BE such as Flick of the Finger and I'm Just Saying and Oasis songs 'Morning Glory' and 'Rock 'n' Roll' star.
Linking arms: Florence later changed into a colourful printed dress as she walked along with a male pal
Boys: Dizzee Rascal and Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw were also among the stars wandering around backstage
This is work? Nick Grimshaw took to the mic backstage as he continued his Radio 1 coverage
Loving life: Scores of fans flocked to the main stage to see the day's performances
Liam's bandmate Gem Archer hopes the band's songs got some of the lazier festival goers out of their tents.
Enjoying themselves: Comedian John Bishop got involved to add to the huge list of famous faces at the festival
Celebrations: Chris was later joined by his wife Dawn O'Porter, who carried a large jug of cocktail for them both
Joining in: The Rooneys also came along, with Coleen mixing a Smirnoff Ice with her Chanel bag as accessories
Man of the weekend: Mick Jagger took to his
Twitter page to show himself outside his yurt before his big night at
the Rolling Stones tomorrow
Other acts due to perform today include Rita Ora, Foals, The Horrors and headlining band the Arctic Monkeys.
