Kris Jenner attempts to explain Kim Kardashian's baby name... but keeps mum on Kanye West's embarrassing diss

It took no time for people to make fun of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's decision to name their newborn daughter North.
But one person who is a big fan of the name is the baby's grandmother and Kim's mother Kris Jenner.
The momager explained the meaning behind North West's name on Tuesday during an appearance on The View.

She said: 'I love the name North. I'm pro North, absolutely. The way [Kim] explained it to me was that North means highest power, and she says that North is their highest point together and I thought that was really sweet.
After confirming that Kardashian does not feature in the little girl's name, Kris attempted to thwart suggestions that it sounds like the name for an airline and not a child.
'It's North West, but you don't walk around calling somebody, "Hi North West",' she said. 'It's just North.'
The 57-year-old said that Kim and Kanye make 'cute' parents and she thinks 'they do' have a nickname for their daughter, but added that she doesn't 'know what they've decided on'.

While she happily dished about the newest addition to the family, who was born on June 15 and weighed in at 4lbs 15oz, Kris didn't speak about a recent interview in which Kanye appears to blast her.
But she almost seemed to be laughing off the somewhat embarrassing moment as she stepped out for breakfast following her TV appearance.
The reality star had a big smile on her face which looked to be her way of saying that she has no qualms about the W Magazine article.
Kris turned heads in her bright pink outfit as she made her way into a restaurant to satisfy her hunger.

The mother-of-five was sporting a long-sleeved dress which showed off her slim legs, along with matching kitten heels that had silvery detailing.
Kris covered her heavily made up face with oversized sunglasses and had her dark cropped tresses perfectly coiffed.
It came after a rather awkward moment between Kanye, 36, and Kris was witnessed by W magazine's writer Chris Bagley and published in the interview with the rapper.
Bagley describes a scenario in which he arrived at Kanye's Paris apartment at 10pm at night to find some of the Kardashian clan in the house, including Kim's brother Rob and her mother Kris.

Kris is looking around the apartment for the first time, and admiring the finery, including a set of designer ceramic cups, the interviewer notes.
Then Kanye plays her some of his unfinished songs, 'including [the track] Awesome which is clearly about Kim,' Bagley writes.
Kris then exclaims: 'Great job.'
However, it seems Kanye didn't find Kris' simplistic critique quite lyrically pleasing enough.
As Bagley observed: 'He raises his eyebrows. "Great job?" he says and sets off on a comic riff that cracks up everyone in the room.

'Toasting with his champagne glass, he says, "Great job, Baccarat, for making a glass that can hold liquid!" He looks down at his waist. "Great job, belt loops, for keeping my pants up!"'
Jenner laughs politely, shortly afterwards hugging West goodbye and tells him: 'I love you. You know where to find us, at the George V. Call us tomorrow, if you want.'
However Bagley notes in an aside: 'It seems apparent to everyone, including Jenner, that West will not call.'
Kim gave birth to her first child with Kanye on June 15 and after being released from hospital it is believed that she and her boyfriend and baby are living in Kris’ home until renovations on their $9million Bel Air mansion are complete.
