The Argentinian striker flew into Malpensa airport in Milan and was greeted by a crowd of fans who all wanted to catch a first glimpse of their new star.
Tevez, 29, is set to sign a three-year contract in Turin once he undergoes a medical on Wednesday although sources close to the player insist that personal terms have yet to be agreed.

The basic fee of £7.6m will rise to £10m if, as expected, the Italians qualify for the Champions League in each of the next three seasons. City could also receive up to £2.5m if Juventus win a trophy in that time.
Who goes there! The Italian police were in town to stop things from getting out of hand
Shaken: Tevez did look slightly taken aback with all the attention
However, former Liverpool, Manchester United and England forward Michael Owen tweeted: 'Have City sold their best striker? You'd have to expect them to replace him with a huge signing. They look light up front all of a sudden.'
Juventus and AC Milan have both had a long-standing interest in Tevez, but Milan have fallen out of the running in recent weeks as they struggled to raise funds by selling former City star Robinho.
‘Tevez is not a transfer target for us,’ said Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani as he appeared to concede defeat yesterday. ‘Before we will try to bring in new players, we will have to sell some of our own players first.
‘Our big transfer coup came in January when we signed Mario Balotelli from City. We will see if anything else happens.’
Tevez’s departure has been on the cards for some time, and only last Friday an international removals van was seen taking the player’s belongings out of his luxury house in the Cheshire village of Alderley Edge.
It brings to an end one of the most controversial careers in English football.
The Argentine had already been embroiled in a third-party ownership controversy at West Ham and a fall-out with Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United when he caused a furore by joining arch-rivals City four years ago.
Consistent: Tevez has been among Manchester City's key players since his 2009 arrival
Tevez subsequently went AWOL in Argentina and his dispute with City was said to have cost him a total of £9.3m in fines and lost bonuses.
In April, the former Boca Juniors and Corinthians star escaped jail after being convicted of driving while disqualified and without insurance, but was given 250 hours of community service which he has had to carry out before a move abroad could be considered.

Pellegrini, who has already indicated that he will give Dezko a second chance at the club, is now in the market for another striker to replace Tevez.
He does not share Mancini’s interest in Napoli’s Edinson Cavani, but Robert Lewandowski of Borussia Dortmund, Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic and Aston Villa target man Christian Benteke could all come into his thinking.

Another Italian club, Inter Milan, are monitoring Micah Richards’ situation at City with the England defender yet to agree terms over a new four-year deal.
