Chelsea have won the race for one of English football’s brightest young talents, Bristol City midfielder Jacob Maddox.
The 14-year-old, has already appeared several times for the Robins’ Under 18 side, and it was hoped that he may continue his development at Ashton Gate.
The Blues were just one of a number of top flight clubs monitoring the situation with Maddox.
The player has agreed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge, with Bristol City due a compensation fee for his services.
Meanwhile, the relegated League One side are snapping up Derby keeper Frank Fielding.
The 25-year-old was a surprise inclusion in an England squad under Fabio Capello in August 2010 but has lost his place at Pride Park following the arrival of Lee Grant, who signed from Burnley.
