The 27-year-old singer, who first found fame on The X Factor back in 2010, wed Brad in an intimate ceremony in New Orleans in September 2012 - just 16 weeks after the couple first met.
However, the marriage ended just two months later following a series of 'horrific rows', and Katie has been licking her wounds in Los Angeles ever since.

But now Katie is beginning the difficult process of moving on, and has penned an emotive ballad entitled I'm Fine as the first step of her recovery process.
With a homemade video showing the singer looking vulnerable and tearful, the track includes lyrics such as: '
Katie, who is currently back in London, wrote the track, performed it on the piano and recorded it at the Sanctum Soho Hotel.
Pouring it out: Katie has channelled her emotions into a new track entitled I'm Fine
Speaking about the heartfelt song, Katie told MailOnline exclusively: 'I wrote this song because I quite simply didn't know how to express myself in any other way. It was the easiest way to get my emotions out at what has become an absolutely heartbreaking time.
'What is amazing is that this has been a total release for me emotionally. This is how a song should be written. I quite simply went to see my manager Mark and my old engineer James at the Sanctum and ended up at a piano with a microphone where it all came out.'
The singer's new song comes after she opened up about her short-lived marriage in an interview with Now magazine.
'I couldn't breathe without him': Katie revealed the extent of her love for Brad
Former fame: Katie first hit the big time on The X Factor back in 2010
Following her fairytale wedding, for which she wore a stunning 5,000 Vera Wang dress ( a fact, Katie says, makes her 'want to cry'), Katie admits that cracks quickly began to appear in the marriage.
The main issue between Katie and Brad was the different in their lifestyle ideals, with the singer admitting she wanted a family life 'with a white picket fence', while Brad was more concerned with become a celebrity couple in Los Angeles.
Katie said of the breakdown of her marriage: 'I ended it after two months. I didn't file for divorce for as long as I could because I wanted to make it work. But the rows were horrific. I remember being on my hands and knees crying, begging him. "Let's just go to New Orleans and forget about everything here." But he wanted this LA lifestyle. I tried so many different things to make it work.'
And Katie told Now magazine that the end of her marriage to Brad, who was formerly the man of her dreams, has left her 'numb and broke'.
She added: 'I was humiliated. I'd completely lost the man I loved. I feel tricked, conned and stupid. That's why I've been hiding away - I don't want to face it at the moment. I went through so much crap with The X Factor - it sucked the life out of me. I finally thought i had a clean slate in America. Then this happened. I keep thinking, "What's wrong with me?" '
But Katie is now beginning the long, slow process of putting her life back together, starting with the revealing of I'm Fine to her dedicated fans.
