The 2016/17 Premier League fixtures will be revealed this morning

0
It doesn't seem like yesterday Leicester were winning the title but next season is already in our sights.

Who will the champions open up against?

Which side will be Jose Mourinho's first opponents as Manchester United boss?

And when will be his first clash with old foe Pep Guardiola in the derby?

The new season gets underway on August 13 but there will be plenty more key dates to get in your diary this morning.

Sorry, Gabby

It must be a sad day for the relegated clubs.
Aston Villa and Newcastle fans in particular, will have been looking forward to the reveal.
They’ll have to wait until next week.
West Ham

West Ham's 2016/17 fixtures

West Ham face Bournemouth in their first ever game at the Olympic Stadium.
The Hammers enjoyed a splendid season last time out leaving their famous old Boleyn Ground on a high ahead of their first campaign at their new home.
But who will they be playing and when?

Well they open up with a tasty London derby at Chelsea before their clash with Bournemouth.
A trip to Manchester City also lies in wait before August is out.

Everton 2016/17 fixtures

Here are Everton’s fixtures for the 2016-17 Premier League season.
Last term was a disappointing one for the Toffees, as they failed to kick on under Roberto Martinez.
The Spaniard was axed towards the end of the campaign after failing to convince club bosses that he was the man to take them forward.

The Blues will once again be looking toward Romelu Lukaku for the bulk of their goals, with Evertonians hoping for a couple of high-quality additions to get them back in the hunt for European football.
As always, fans will be looking out for their clash with Merseyside rivals Liverpool, but when is it otherwise?

Tottenham 2016/17 fixtures

The 2016/17 Premier League fixtures are here - and Spurs will kick off the new season with a trip to Everton.
Tottenham enjoyed one of the best seasons in decades last term pushing Leicester all the way in the title race before inexplicably finishing below great rivals Arsenal on the final day.
But who will they be playing and when?

As ever they will be looking towards the London derbies with the home and away clashes with Chelsea, West Ham and obviously Arsenal eagerly anticipated.

Opening day matches

The first weekend promises to be a blockbuster.
Things get underway on August 13.
Some of these fixtures are subject to change for TV coverage.
Bring it on!
  • Arsenal vs Liverpool
  • Bournemouth vs Manchester United
  • Burnley vs Swansea
  • Chelsea vs West Ham
  • Crystal Palace vs West Brom
  • Everton vs Tottenham
  • Hull vs Leicester
  • Man City vs Sunderland
  • Middlesbrough vs Stoke
  • Southampton vs Watford

Liverpool 2016/17 fixtures

Jurgen Klopp takes Liverpool to Arsenal on the opening weekend of the season.
It was an up and down season on Anfield last time out, with Brendan Rodgers’ last days giving way to the Klopp era.

But next season gets off to a tough start with the Reds facing Tottenham, Chelsea and Leicester before the end of September.

It was almost capped with a Europa League win, only for the Reds to fall at the last.
Still, there is now a sense of excitement ahead of this season.
Here are all Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures.

Manchester City 2016/17 fixtures

Pep Guardiola gets his Manchester City tenure underway at home to Sunderland.
The two-time champions laboured to a top-four finish without putting significant pressure on the eventual champions Leicester.

Guardiola is the new man at the helm and City fans will also be hoping to see an influx of new signings as they look to add some big names to their ranks.

His first showdown with Jose Mourinho comes at Old Trafford on September 10 with the reverse fixture at the Etihad on February 25.

Manchester United 2016/7 fixtures

Manchester United endured yet another difficult season with double European exit and a fifth-placed finish finally proving curtains for former Louis van Gaal.

But now it’s the Jose Mourinho era and all the optimism that comes with it.

The Red Devils will start the new season as they finished the last - by playing against Bournemouth. That fixture was re-arranged due to a bomb scare at Old Trafford, while this time United travel to the south coast.

The first Manchester derby of the season takes place on September 10 at Old Trafford, with the return at the Etihad coming on February 25.

Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge to face his former side Chelsea on October 22, with the return fixture against the Blues coming on April 15.

A potentially tricky run-in sees United face north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham before a home clash against Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.

Leicester 2016/17 fixtures

Leicester begin their Premier League title defence at newly-promoted Hull on the opening weekend of the 2016/17 season.

The Foxes start the campaign as champions – that still sounds incredible – and know that everyone will be looking to knock them off their perch this time out.

Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are both wanted by other clubs, while N’Golo Kante will also be in demand in the weeks ahead.

They face a tough start with games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United all coming up before the end of September.

Arsenal 2016/17 fixtures

Arsenal open their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on the opening weekend.
It’s a tricky start for the Gunners, who will be looking to mount a serious title challenge next season.
Next up for them is a trip to Premier League champions Leicester.

The first north London derby is at the Emirates on November 11, with the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane on November 29.

Just 15 minutes until the big reveal.
Who do YOU want to face on the opening day?
Where will your club be playing on Boxing Day?
And how does your run-in compare to the rest of the league.
It’s almost time to find out.
  Arsene Wenger
They’re right, there will be a new look to United for the start of next season.
It’s all change in the dugout and just how many new faces will Mourinho be bringing in?
It’s going to be fascinating.

Leaked fixtures

An alleged fixture release was confirmed as a hoax a couple of weeks ago.
Reports circulated on social media claiming the fixtures for the 2016/17 Premier League campaign had been leaked.

An official Premier League statement on Twitter said: “We understand the excitement that a new set of Premier League fixtures holds to the fans and media.

“What has been put into the public domain over this last weekend is a hoax.
“We would encourage all fans and media to wait for the official release on 15 June.”
Let’s see if any match up.

When will TV fixtures be announced?

To be honest, we don’t really know.
We expect the first batch of TV fixtures for August and September to be confirmed at the beginning of July.
Sky will be showing matches on Friday night and of course retaining their Monday Night Football slot.
BT will also have plenty of games throughout the season.

When does the season start?

While we are all enjoying Euro 2016, everyone is waiting for the new season to begin.
Fortunately, you don’t have too long to wait!
The new season gets underway on Saturday August 13.

The Football League season starts on Saturday August 7 - but you’ll have to wait another week for those fixtures.

New men at the helm

As mentioned, there are plenty of new bosses in the Premier League next season.
None more so than the two new chiefs in Manchester.

The first Manchester derby will be a blockbuster affair, won’t it!

They’re not the only new sheriffs in town with Antonio Conte moving to Chelsea.
Everton have a familiar face in charge for the new season while there is ANOTHER new face at Watford - Walter Mazzarri.

Greetings

Good morning one and all.
How are we today?

It’s the one you’ve all been waiting for - Premier League fixtures day!
It doesn’t seem like yesterday last season came to a close but now we are already looking ahead.
This morning sees the dates for the 2016/17 campaign revealed.

Of course some of the fixtures are subject to change due to TV and European matches - but it is still one of the most exciting days in the football calendar.

Who will Jose Mourinho face in his first league match as Manchester United boss?
Where will Pep Guardiola be going on Boxing Day? And what about Antonio Conte at Chelsea?
We’ll find out soon enough so stay here for all the latest throughout the morning.
